About Dalena Watson, LPC, FAMI, MT-BC,
EMDR clinician
Dalena Watson is a Licensed Professional Counselor, EMDR clinician
trained through the EMDR Institute, Fellow of the Association for Music and
Imagery, and Board Certified-Music Therapist. She completed career
specialization studies in the Bonny Method of Guided Imagery and Music (GIM)
with Mid-Atlantic Institute of Severa Park, MD. She is trained in level I MARI
assessment through Carol Bush/Mid-Atlantic Institute. She completed her M.A.
in Counseling at Prescott College. Her Bachelor of Music is in Music Therapy
from Arizona State University. She has worked in the fields of mental health
and music therapy for nearly 20 years providing individual and group therapy
to children, adolescents, and adults. She has worked with persons with
developmental delays, mental health, forensic issues, personal growth, and
wellness goals.
Dalena has provided in-services for hospitals and businesses in the areas of
self-care, stress management, spirituality in medicine, grief facilitation with
music, cancer survivors and care-givers, and drumming and community-
building. She provided a Women’s Retreat workshop series, music therapy
groups and workshops at Banner Desert Medical Center. Dalena has
volunteered at grief camps and has specialized training in the resolution of
grief. She completed the Spiritual Counseling Facilitator Training Program
through the American Academy of Bereavement. She has designed and led
workshops, spiritual exploration groups, and retreats for churches. Dalena
leads music therapy groups for cancer survivors and their caregivers at the
Wellness Center in Phoenix, Arizona. She is also a clinical board member of
TG Harmony.
